The anahata chakra is resembled by the color green so all sorts of green while foods are helpful in balancing the anahata chakra (leafy greens and crucifers is veggies are especially good.


On a purely logical sense, the detoxifying and high vitamin qualities of leafy greens veggie and herbs are incredibly beneficial to heart health and entire body health for that matter.


Some good foods for anahata include kale, arugula, spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, chard, parsley, mint, cilantro, celery, cucumber, avocado, lime, kiwi, green apples, matcha, and green tea.


Today’s recipe can be used for lunch or dinner depending on your preference. You can make it a denser dinner meal by associating the salad with a serving of meat/protein plus sautéed zucchini or roasted broccoli on the side.

Ultimate Greens Salad with Detox Dressing


PREP TIME: 45 minutes 


Recommended Salad Ingredients:

  • 2-3 large handfuls of greens (i.e. kale, arugula, lettuce, spinach, etc.)
  • Hemp seeds and/or chia seeds
  • Walnuts, almonds, and/or pine nuts
  • Quinoa and/or beans
  • Sun dried tomato, artichokes, and/or olives
  • Celery, diced
  • Cucumber, diced
  • Green apples, diced
  • Optional: Bacon + hard boiled eggs


For Detox Dressing:

  • 3 small or 2 large avocados
  • 2 chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped parsley
  • 1/2 cup chopped basil
  • 6 garlic cloves minced
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper


Directions:

1. Start by preparing the dressing. In a food proccesor or Vitamix. Blend together all ingredients listed for detox dressing.

2. Next, toss the desired amount of dressing into the desired quantity of leafy greens (i.e. kale, arugula, lettuce, spinach, etc.).

3. Serve with recommended toppings listed (especially the green ones!)

Optional: Serve with leftover protein, crumbled bacon, and/or sliced hard boiled eggs.
